Guy Padfield
Biography

I have been interested in music from an early age, starting out by picking up tunes by ear playing keyboard for the family and friends at school. During my teens the passion began to fade and the prospect of a career brought a more serious purpose to my life. In 1996, I took up acoustic guitar and began writing songs, keeping them only to myself. And in September 2007, a campfire party and an inspiring new musician friend brought about an awakening of my dormant love for music. It was then that my material saw the light of day and was enjoyed by people.

Since then, I have rapidly moved from just playing guitar into other instruments and earned myself a singer/songwriter status, producing a debut EP and a first album (in the making). My songs are influenced by all genres of music, and are mellow, comforting, and radiate a love of musical melodies and the rhyme of poetry. Much of my work is written about British wildlife, famous poems/poets, literature and film and fable.

My biggest hobby, which goes hand in hand with composing music, is world and historic musical instruments. In fact I just love any instrument and also enjoy writing unique pieces to suit the style of the instrument. My favourite has to be the native flutes and Irish whistles as these are really easy and fun to play, and through them you can really express yourself in music.
